Applicants résumés are indexed and stored electronically allowing principals in any one of the districts 31 campuses to search and review the applications online, ensuring that the right applicant is matched to the right position. Independent School District 196 is a state and nationally recognized K-12 public school district located in the south suburban Twin Cities, conveniently accessible to both Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Illinois Environmental Protection Agency implemented DocuWare in the Bureau of Land in order to share information with employees across the state in 13 different locations. The solution has allowed the agency to eliminate multiple archives, improve file integrity and significantly reduce document management and storage costs. Compliance with the Freedom of Information Act is much easier now that requested documents can be distributed on CD.
Created in 1970, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) safeguards the environmental quality of Illinois’ land, air and water in order to protect health, welfare, property and quality of life; all while balancing the social and economic needs of the state. The IEPA employs 1,200 people who work from either the headquarters’ office in Springfield or in one of nine field offices and three laboratories throughout the state.

County Government Streamlines Information

Douglas County has significantly improved the time its employees have available to spend assisting residents, by dramatically reducing document storage and retrieval time. Implementing DocuWare has positioned the County to process more records without adding personnel, giving the County the flexibility to meet budget constraints and growing needs simultaneously. The ability to search the records within the database will allow the Juvenile Justice department to perform early intervention programs, the Health department to provide better medical care, the Sheriff’s department to identify crime trends and the Assessors department to provide better access to public information.
Douglas County Oregon, population 100,000, is a rural county in the southwest corner of the state. The County’s IT department began looking for a document management system to better store 30 years of the Sheriff department’s case records. During their search, the County realized that a document management solution could be utilized as a research tool; therefore, the County expanded its focus and chose to implement DocuWare in the Sheriff’s department first and then expand the system to other departments.

A family-owned firm, founded by Edward H. Christian Health Care Center: Healthy Admissions Processes

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC), an elder-care and mental-health facility, has implemented DocuWare, streamlining its Admissions Department and improving information accuracy for the entire Center. Patient information can easily be transferred between programs. The Center has realized significant productivity and efficiency gains, and improved patient relations, thus allowing the Center to focus on providing services in a compassionate and loving environment.
CHCC was founded in 1911 by a group of deacons from the Reformed tradition. Today, CHCC - a non-profit organization open to anyone regardless of race, sex, or religion - provides high-quality, family-centered eldercare and mental-health services.
The Center offers both inpatient and outpatient programs. Elder-care programs include long-term care, a special-care inpatient behavior-management unit, adult day services, assisted living, and independent senior residences. Mental-health services include a psychiatric hospital, partial program, and outpatient counseling.
Cardiovascular Center of Lompoc: Patient Records Available 24/7

The Cardiovascular Center of Lompoc (CCL) provides patients with non-invasive diagnostic studies of the heart, venous and arterial systems. Patients are referred to the Center by local doctors.
As a growing practice treating more and more patients every year, CCL spent a lot of time and money filing and storing patient records. Each new patient meant more records to process, track and store. “It’s tedious work to file and organize these records and it never ends. There are always new patient records coming in,“ says Karen Munoz, the employee who handles billing for the center out of her home office.
Not only are patient records difficult to manage due to their large sizes, but because CCL is required to keep these records on file for seven years they were forced to keep the overflow in an offsite storage facility.
