MAHWAH, NJ, April 10, 2012 – Sharp Business Systems of Southern California, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, has been awarded a 5-year contract from the city of San Diego, to become the city’s copier vendor, supplying the city with more than 550 machines.

“This win is the culmination of four months of hard work and dedication from the team at Sharp Business Systems of Southern California” said Jerry Jackson, vice president, Service and Operations, Sharp Business Systems of Southern California. “This contract with the city of San Diego is the direct result of Sharp’s ongoing commitment to providing the best combination of product and services design to help clients meet their varied business needs.”

The Request for Proposal (RFP), issued in May of 2011, was awarded to Sharp Business Systems of Southern California in September, 2011 and will save the city an amount estimated at more than $1 million per year, for the duration of the 5-year contract.

In the initial stages of the relationship, Sharp Business Systems delivered, installed, and networked 562 MFPs for the city within seven weeks. The company also trained city employees on how to use the machines.
